The Last Judgment. H.Memlinc |
The organizers like to thank all the authors who submitted abstracts for the meeting. The selection was difficult, but the large number of abstracts that were received, facilitated the task of maintaining the quality standards of the International Symposia. Each abstract was reviewed by 7 experts in the category for which it was submitted, and scored on a scale of 0-10. The experts received a special copy of the abstract without author names, references to papers, grants or other identifying material. This special copy was prepared by the Symposium Secretariat. The scores were standardized, so that the mean score for each referee was 0, and then averaged. The distribution of the averaged standardized scores and the time schedule of the meeting, which allowed for about 60 oral presentations and 140 posters, was used to delineate the minimum scores for acceptance (>0 or 54%) and for oral presentation (>0.6 or 17%). Organisation of the program into sessions led to minor adjustments. The painting "The Last Judgment" by H.Memlinc, shown on the left, leads to the list of accepted abstracts, if clicked at the "right" spot. If necessary consult the text from the second announcement which offers a hint to find this spot. |
