Catherine Mertens provides
the link with the hometown of the organizers. She was born in Leuven and started playng
piano at the age of 7. She has studied in Leuven, Brussels, Antwerp and London each time
capturing first prizes and numerous distinctions. She performs as solist with several
prestigious ensembles among them I Fiamminghi, the Collegium Instrumentale Brugense and
the National TV Orchestra.
